This is the nearest you will get to having your lockdown locks tended to for quite some time, unless you are self-isolating with a hairdresser.
The National Theatre are screening a never-before-seen archive recording of Inua Ellams’ Barber Shop Chronicles which is a Leeds Playhouse and Fuel co-production and is one of my absolute favourite plays. I have had the pleasure of seeing it twice, once before it went on its world tour and again when it came back to Leeds a few months ago. Both performances were superb.
This National Theatre at Home screening was recorded in January, 2018 at the Dorfman Theatre about half-way between the dates I attended.
It will be available from 7.00pm BST on Thursday 14th May for seven days so please don’t put off watching it.
The play will be on National Theatre at Home YouTube Channel https://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/nt-at-home I really do urge you to see it.
