Baby, it’s cold outside, but not at the Ticket Office, where they have installed an external heating system so that people can comply with the Tier 2 rules and meet someone from another household outdoors. The area has also been fitted with shelters so you don’t get wet either – except on the inside!

Back in June I wrote about the extensive measures taken by this Ilkley favourite to make reopening after lockdown a safe experience for all with the introduction of thermal imaging temperature checks, regular fogging and the provision of outside facilities. These are still being utilised to the full and are ready to welcome customers during the coming autumn and winter months. What with all the rain we have had you might not even notice the difference!

Covered and heated area

It is said that a crisis always brings out the best in people and this has been illustrated by their joining forces with the next door neighbours – La Stazione – to utilise each other’s outdoor facilities whilst the other is closed. These measures have ensured that they have been able to retain all of their full-time staff. I am doffing my cap to them whilst writing this.

Cocktails at Home

There are a couple of new incentives in the pipeline; Cocktails at Home, where customers will be provided with all the ingredients and instructions in order to make their favourite cocktails at home (I think the clue is in the name there), and Ticket Office to Your Office, a scheme by which they bring food and do masterclasses to entertain your colleagues so that they don’t miss out on Christmas celebrations. All socially distanced of course.

Should Tier 3 restrictions be imposed it is hoped to continue with grazing boards, bar food and the various pop-up eateries so as to comply with the rules. It also gives a varied choice of food with everything from afternoon teas to pizza.

During these uncertain times it is more important than ever to support our independent businesses, especially those who are doing everything they can to change the way they work both to ensure their customers safety, and keep them fed and watered.

Let us hope that the return portion of the ticket can be used in the very near future.
