December is the time to pile on the pounds and those wonderful people at Bundobust will pile on a pound to the Leeds homeless charity Canopy Housing for every £5.50 Sprout Bhaji Butty sold between now and 23rd December.
This is only one of their range of Christmas offerings which include straight Sprout Bhajis at £4.50 and a Festive Curry for £7 made from winter vegetables in a cinnamon and star anise spiced tomato and coconut curry sauce served with onion and jeera rice, both of which are totally vegan.
There is also a rotating range of Christmas brews on tap and in the fridge from Mikkeller, Anchor, Northern Monk as well as various Belgian beers.
Other drinks for the season are two specially created cocktails; Naughty, a spiced hot toddy, and Nice an alcohol-free apple and cinnamon sour. The choice is yours. It is only the cocktails which are labelled, so whichever one you choose you can still decide whether you want to be naughty or nice.
Bundobust now have branches in Manchester and Liverpool and these offers are available in all of them. The charitable donations from the Sprout Bhaji Butties go to homeless charities in the corresponding cities.
Speaking of Christmas in a bun, Brunswick has a Festive addition to its menu for December which is The Brunswick Christmas Burger.
It comprises a Smashed Sausage and Stuffing Patty, a Smashed Beef Patty, Camembert, Bernaise and Cranberry Sauce served in a Seeded Potato Brioche Bun.
Whether you go for the vegan/vegetarian version of a Christmas sarnie at Bundobust or the carnivore at Brunswick I am sure that it will get your celebrations off to a fine start.
Have a Cool Yule.
